Job Summary
The Nurse Services Manager 2 has oversight and responsibility for all levels of staff including, ancillary and nurse supervisors and managers, nurse coordinators, medical assistants, technicians, lab assistants and patient service representatives. This role interfaces frequently with the entire multidisciplinary clinical teams including, executive leaders for the Cancer Center and Ambulatory services, Cancer Center Providers, Operational and Clinical Directors, Practice Managers, Nurse Managers, Cancer Center supervisors, clinical research coordinators, Apheresis, and Progenitor Lab. The Nurse Manager works to assure clinical excellence across all practice areas to achieve timely access to care supported by well-coordinated teams and processes that improve patient care across the entire MHCTT division at UCDH. Programmatically, the Nurse Manager role will assist the Executive Director in facilitating growth, development, and expansion of new cancer treatment clinics, service expansion, novel therapies, and other programs in alignment with the Strategic Clinical Plan (CSP). The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The clinical manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long- and short-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction. Certification of field of practice required: OCN and/or BMTCN Certification Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Master's degree required in nursing or other related field within three (3) years of hire date. Minimum two (2) years of nursing management experience required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical skills. Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area. Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice. Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area. Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues. Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Preferred Qualifications

Clinical personnel in the Malignant Hematology, Cell Therapies, & Transplant (MHCTT) department at UC Davis Medical Center provide care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of needs. Patient conditions include oncology and non-oncology diagnoses including malignant and benign hematology, solid tumors, endocrine disorders, rheumatology, gastrointestinal, genetic, autoimmune renal, neurologic, pulmonary diseases, as well as a myriad of other rare disorders and diseases.
