Senior Director, Global Procurement – Clinical Laboratories

Key Accountabilities:
Accountable for leading, defining, and implementing the global Clinical Laboratories Category strategy to serve global and regional business needs. Works closely with stakeholders to lead discussions related to the Clinical Laboratories Categories and aligns category priorities with Procurement management and stakeholders. Leads negotiations, supplier management activities, and stakeholder engagement activities for the Clinical Laboratories Category as assigned. Works independently to drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from category management activities. Represents Global Procurement by participating in organizational decisions in the Laboratories categories with critical short and long-term impact on the success, efficiency, growth, and results of the organization and company. Demonstrates knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support the growth and evolution of the Global Procurement organization and leverages this knowledge to drive improvements within Regeneron, aligned with corporate priorities. Leads category activities to ensure compliance with appropriate GxPs and other applicable regulations. Negotiates contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law department aligned with Regeneron’s priorities and business requirements. May either directly or through a matrix structure, manage team of professional level employees responsible for performing category management tasks (if applicable). Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports (if applicable) and provides leadership examples for the organization. Uses data to drive decision-making for successful category projects. Coaches proficiency on procurement technical skills among global procurement team.
Job Requirements:
The role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study plus progressive experience in procurement, preferably including substantial experience in Pharma/BioPharma. Experience successfully leading global categories teams, processes, and suppliers across a breadth of categories. Builds influential relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to drive results for Regeneron. The candidate should demonstrate success leading cross-functional teams to drive results in Clinical Laboratories categories or related categories through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management. Provide expert insight and knowledge regarding rates, unit costs, and costing structures to enable optimal negotiations. Uses external data sources, market information, and supplier engagement to constantly improve Regeneron’s knowledge of supply market dynamics. Individual who is experienced operating with integrity, focus, and clarity in an environment of ambiguity to drive change and improvement. Demonstrated success leading and directing the global supply market evaluation process using all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools. Acts as the primary relationship manager to the supplier's global leadership team. Experience leading manager level professionals in a multi-national firm including writing performance reviews, setting annual objectives, coaching, and developing direct reports. Working knowledge with sourcing contracting tools, ERP’s, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, Ariba, Other) Ability to leverage standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
