Solution Architect
to join our US Transportation Command - Global Freight Management team. The Solution Architect is responsible for defining technical strategies and overseeing the design and implementation of complex systems across multiple platforms. This position requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, systems integration, and software development processes, with a strong focus on aligning technical solutions with business objectives. As a Certified Scrum Master, the Solution Architect also facilitates Agile development practices, ensuring efficient team collaboration and delivery. The role involves providing expertise across various architecture domains-application, data, security, and infrastructure-and leading teams through the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. The Solution Architect acts as a technical expert on systems integration and is responsible for project completion within set timelines. Duties & Responsibilities
Define and implement consumption standards for external mission partners, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Lead feasibility analysis for potential future projects, assessing technical and business viability. Provide expertise in various areas of enterprise architecture, including application, data, security, and infrastructure architecture. Serve as a technical expert on systems integration and multiple platform compatibility, ensuring smooth transitions and interoperability across heterogeneous systems (Windows, Unix, Linux). Oversee the design and development of complex software systems, leading development teams to create scalable and maintainable solutions. Act as a Scrum Master to facilitate Agile practices, guiding development teams through sprints, backlog refinement, and ensuring adherence to Scrum principles. Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines for software/portal/web services architecture planning and design. Ensure seamless system and data migration efforts, particularly involving legacy systems. Perform technical design for large-scale enterprise infrastructure, including buildout and management of cloud-based environments (AWS Systems Operations). Provide solutions for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) and Integration Architecture. Lead efforts in system performance optimization, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution to ensure project success and completion. Ensure adherence to industry best practices, including ITIL, SDLC, CMMI, and security frameworks, while maintaining DoD security compliance (IAT-II certification). Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements and objectives. Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making across various development and engineering teams. Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role. Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other technical discipline related to designing information systems. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) with proven experience in leading Agile teams. Strong working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, software development life cycles (SDLC), and software architecture principles. Experience in technical design and service management across multiple platforms, including Windows, Unix, and Linux. Familiarity with .NET and JEE frameworks, and experience with database and data warehouse systems (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL). Expertise in SOA, systems integration, and migration of legacy systems. Experience with cloud-based systems architecture, including AWS Systems Operations. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to guide technical teams and consult with business stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in applying industry best practices such as ITIL, SDLC, CMMI, and security architecture principles in enterprise environments.
