The Senior Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for managing activities in the accounts payable process and assisting with the implementation of the financial ERP (Oracle). This position plays a key role in managing and coordinating accounts payable operations and staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, and maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures. Manage and oversee functions of the accounts payable department, including accurate and effective invoice processing, payment disbursements, and vendor management while ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and best practices in the accounts payable function 40% Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines including playing a significant part implementing a new financial ERP (Oracle) 30% Provide leadership and direction to the accounts payable team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement while managing relationships with vendors and internal partners, resolving any conflicts or issues that arise. 20% Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities related to accounts payable including preparing and presenting reports regarding the accounts payable department’s performance and activities 10% Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, especially related to accounts payable including understanding of financial regulations and standards, including tax laws and audit procedures Familiarity with accounting and financial software systems (recent Oracle experience required, implementation experience a plus), as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Awareness of industry trends and best practices in accounts payable management. Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively lead the accounts payable team. Excellent analytical and organizational skills to assess financial data, make strategic decisions and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with other departments, vendors, and external parties. Ability to develop and implement effective accounts payable policies and procedures, identify and resolve issues, and effectively manage and maintain relationships with vendors. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or certification such as CPA is preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounts payable or related field with a significant portion in management role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle) and MS Office applications. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
