Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. Description
The Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is looking for a Board-certified general surgeon seeking additional training in trauma/surgical critical care to join our faculty for a one-year non-ACGME fellowship. Applicants of the 2025 Surgical Fellowship Match must submit job applications using the Emory Careers Website. The Department of Surgery of Emory University at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, is actively seeking a qualified candidate at the PGY6 level for a trauma fellowship position. This is a non-ACGME fellowship position overseen by Jason Sciarretta, MD. Unlike most programs of this type, the first year of the program is spent on the trauma service and involves operative experience with acute vascular, thoracic, and abdominal injuries. Comprehensive care of the injured patient is a major focus, with fellows covering the resuscitation bay, operating room, clinic, and postoperative care. Elective cases include restoration of GI continuity, abdominal wall reconstruction, and spine exposure. Biostatistics training is also available. When the trauma year is successfully completed, the second year encompasses the ACGME-approved surgical critical care fellowship, which is made up of nine months of ICU rotations in Grady's ICU and three months of critical care electives, including burns and echocardiography. Emory Supports a Diverse and Inclusive Culture
Emory University is dedicated to providing equal opportunities and equal access to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, ethnic or national origin, gender, genetic information, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and veteran's status.
