May provide supervision and direction to clerical, paraprofessional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions
Supervision/Advising (20%) Recruit, train, directly supervise and evaluate 1 Residence Life Advisor and 1 Residence Life Senior Advisor Contribute to and monitor the professional development of area staff Provide indirect supervision and support to Residence Life Professional and Student Staff, particularly in relation to assigned functional area Conduct one-on-one meetings with direct supervisees/advisees and indirect staff, as assigned Train and advise Residence Life Staff on student outreach and reporting for area initiatives Administration (25%)
Provide administrative oversight for area functions including but not limited to budget management, recruitment systems, residential curriculum, payroll approval, Maxient and student of concern reporting, and other departmental databases and systems Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Assess and report on effectiveness of area intitiatives Advise, chair or serve on departmental or ResLife committees or liaison opportunities, as assigned On-Call/Emergency Response (15%)
Serve as a member of the Residence Life Leadership On-Call Team throughout the academic year, university breaks, and summer for a residential population of over 8000 students Be available on a call-to-duty status to assist with residence hall and campus emergencies Communicate appropriately with emergency personnel, University Student, Housing, and other campus officials as needed Support professional staff in responding to crises and providing follow-up Residence Life Training & Student Staffing and Institutional Support (40%)
Chair Residence Life recruitment committee; collaborate with Residence Life training committee chairs Coordinate all aspects of residence life staffing for student and graduate staff including marketing, scheduling, interviewing, etc. Coordinate the planning and implementation of student staff training and on-going developments Co-coordinate professional staff training and on-going developments Coordinate a Careers in Student Affairs leadership experience for interested student staff and leaders Assist with summer operations as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field. Three or more years progressive residence life experience or experience in a field related to the functional area of the position; Two-years experience supervising full-time staff
