Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization:
Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
Optimize CNC machining processes for firearm components, including setup, tooling, and programming.
Technical Expertise: Program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes, multi-axis) to achieve precise tolerances. Develop and maintain CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks). Specify tooling, fixtures, and equipment required for efficient production.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all products meet stringent quality standards. Perform root cause analysis and corrective action for production issues related to machining processes.
Project Management: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects, to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, to ensure seamless integration of new products into manufacturing.
Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Profile Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the firearms or precision machining industry. Proficiency in CNC programming and machining, with hands-on experience in operating and optimizing CNC machines. Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and precision measurement tools. Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks). Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
