Job Profile Summary:

Enterprise Architect - Applications, is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performing application architectures built on public cloud (primarily Azure). We are seeking a highly skilled individual to drive FedEx's shift towards a platform engineering and product-focused culture, playing a critical role in shaping our future.

As an Application Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative application architectures that align with our strategic goals and drive business value. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in both cloud-native application development and legacy system modernization, with a strong focus on reusability, scalability, and resilience.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Leadership: Drive the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and high-performance application architectures, leveraging modern technologies and best practices. Platform Engineering: Collaborate with platform teams to develop and maintain reusable, self-service platforms and tools that empower product teams to deliver features rapidly. Product-Oriented Mindset: Foster a product-centric culture by promoting agile methodologies, continuous delivery, and DevOps principles. Technology Expertise: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in application architecture, cloud computing, and UI/UX design. Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing. Skills Profile:

Technical Proficiency:

Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, including microservices, event-driven, and serverless patterns. Deep knowledge of Azure cloud platform and its offerings, such as Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Cosmos DB. Expertise in common event processing stack like Kafka, Flink etc. Expertise in common UI/UX frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js. Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Golang or Python. Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps). Experience with API design and development (REST, GraphQL). Understanding of data modeling, database design, and query optimization. Experience with serverless computing and low-code platforms. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with cloud security best practices.

Essential Functions

Responsible for decisions/priorities regarding the overall enterprise's architecture. Translate business needs into architectural solutions (current and target state) and defining solutions to problems through application of information technology. Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards/guidelines that direct integration of multiple platforms. Develop/document the framework for integration/implementation for changes to architectural standards. Determine architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and security needs. Provide technical guidance to project team. Coach the development of Jr. IT architects Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to apply basic computer concepts, theories, principles and methods to projects, business problems, issues, and/or questions.

Strong communication skills.

Sr Enterprise Architect- Applications

Job Profile Summary

Lead long range planning for the structure/interaction between the business strategy, organization, and business, application, data and technical architectures.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of project planning, technical architecture, and business strategy. Excellent communication skills.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to apply basic computer concepts, theories, principles and methods to projects, business problems, issues, and/or questions.

Strong communication skills.

Pay Transparency:

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay:

U.S Pay Range: $9,719.19 - $15,090.23 (Monthly)
