License: Current Active PA license required
Certifications: - Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible within 5 years of Residency through the American Board of Internal Medicine, Subspecialty of Gastroenterology - Fellowship Trained in Gastroenterology - BLS Certification required
Must-Have: - Experience with all general GI procedures - Ability to manage 5-10 inpatient consults per day while on-call for inpatient service - Specialty skills in various endoscopy procedures and preferred skills in ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound - Willing to provide call and clinic coverage
Job Description:
- Provide call and clinic coverage as per the schedule: Call is 5 PM-5 PM, Clinic hours are 8-4. - Required to perform all general gastrointestinal procedures. - Handle inpatient consults, estimated at 5-10 per day, only while on-call for inpatient service. - Demonstrate specialty skills in the following areas: - Upper GI endoscopy procedures, including biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder - Injection of varices during endoscopy - Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for ERCP (preferred) - PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) - Esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation - Small Bowel and Lower GI endoscopies, including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid) and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision - Endoscopic ultrasound (preferred) - Liver biopsy (preferred)
- Nearest airports: Pittsburgh or Latrobe. - Lodging provided by the facility. - This facility is a Level 1 trauma center. - Pediatric Level: 0. - Estimated credentialing time frame is 30 days.
