Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner

Role Overview:
The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner utilizes their expertise and judgment to enhance professional competence and support the growth of learners across various settings, aligning with the IU Health Way. The key responsibilities of this role encompass: Onboarding and orientation of new staff Competency management Education and training initiatives Role development and enhancement Fostering collaborative partnerships Engaging in inquiry and research to improve practices This position often collaborates with unit leaders and other stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and support initiatives at both the unit and facility levels.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required; additional advanced life support certifications may be necessary based on department needs. Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program is required. A minimum of two years of nursing experience is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet educational requirements. Must demonstrate knowledge of and proficiency in adult learning principles.
