You will be responsible for shaping the position of Columbia Threadneedle Investments on overall market strategies and implications which includes providing unique perspectives, insights and actionable views on global and capital market themes and their impact on portfolio construction and asset allocation. You will communicate and present these views to educate clients, media, and sales channels with the goal of guiding them toward value-added investment decisions. You will also be expected to oversee and engineer the development of flagship thought leadership related to global markets across institutional and retail channels.This role reports into our Head of North America Product & Business Intelligence.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for shaping and articulating our investments points of views and portfolio implications across Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternatives. Work with the firm's portfolio managers, research analysts, distribution leadership and product teams to identify unique perspectives, insights, and actionable views on capital markets. Incorporate and address portfolio construction and asset allocation themes. Communicate and present these views to educate clients, media, and sales channels with the goal of guiding them toward good investment decisions. Maintain thorough/relevant market, economic and asset class knowledge to represent the company's views on markets and the investment outlook in a variety of formats including media appearances (television, radio and print), in-person meetings, podcasts and research reports.Be a proven facility with often spontaneous and unplanned requests, affording with little or no preparation time. Partnering with the North America Marketing team to publish a series of investment thought leadership materials, including (but not limited to) a quarterly review of capital markets insights and forward-looking opportunities, for use within our Institutional and Intermediary sales channels.Ensure effective controls are in place to pro-actively manage risk and remain in compliance with company policies and procedures.Travel within the United States will be expected in this position.Required Qualifications10+ years industry experience, preferably with an asset manager, private bank, or wealth manager, with a foundation in economics, or asset class specialization. Seasoned media presenter, effectively communicating complex investment information to a wide variety of audiences. Someone who is both media ready and recognizable.Extensive knowledge of investment industry and portfolio strategy.Ability to articulate investment view within macroeconomic framework on economic sectors and individual securities.Ability to communicate investment views on economic individual securities to audiences with differing degrees of investment knowledge.Excellent relationship and leadership skills.Preferred QualificationsCFA, CIMA, or CAIAAs this is a senior leadership role, you will be expected to:Think strategically, creatively, and drive innovation with a focus on continuous improvement.Demonstrate accountability and focus on client needs and creating value for the shareholder.Build and develop talent and manage performance of assigned team(s) whilst effectively managing and lead through change.About Our CompanyWe’re a diversified financial services leader with more than $1 trillion in assets under management and administration as of 2022. Base salaries are determined in part based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
