Schedule: Full Time Shift :8:00 AM 5:00 PM Location: 100 Hospital Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28792 The community youll be caring for: AdventHealth Hendersonville Convenient access, with locations across Western North Carolina Beautiful mountain scenery Plentiful opportunities for outdoor adventurers, including hiking, zip lining and white-water rafting Historic towns and cities full of specialty shops, art galleries and unique restaurants The role you ll contribute : The Interpreter Services Coordinator supports the day-to-day logistics for scheduling and efficiency in the use of language access resources. Under the direction of the manager, supports developing, monitoring and coordinating the comprehensive service of language access and any other communication resource needed to accommodate LEP (Limited English Proficiently) patients. Provides interpretation support as necessary. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value youll bring to the team: Maintains confidential data, including patient and language access information Oversees day-to-day scheduling of AH interpreters, last minute requests and vendor needs to ensure responsiveness and excellence in the language access services provided to patients. Supports compliance with all established policies, procedures and guidelines, maintains a safe workplace in accordance with hospital policies. Manages interpreter resources effectively and as appropriate acts as first response to complaints or problems providing service recovery or escalating to manager as needed. Develops close working relationships with other departmental team members, leaders and vendors to ensure consistency of work as well as overall department productivity. Provides technical assistance and campus-wide consultation for departments, faculty, and staff regarding interpreting services. Maintains and evaluates data and reports to properly ensure correct scheduling, interpreter availability by languages, and any related topic. Performs quality control analysis on interpretations performed by staff interpreters, and agency interpreters to ensure maximum quality in language access and responsiveness (timely arrivals). Qualifications What you will need: High school graduate or equivalent required Must be able to obtain Certification for Medical Interpretation (paid for by Advent and acquired from MAHEC) within 6 months Must be proficient in English and Spanish Previous healthcare experience preferred This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
