POSITION SUMMARY: Develop, service and maintain advertising accounts for Post-Gazette and through the sale of advertising products including but not limited to ROP, special sections, special products, niche publications and Responsible for the generation and growth of new and incremental multimedia advertising and revenue for the Post-Gazette, and other affiliated products. Responsible for making outbound calls to qualified sales leads with the goal of acquiring new clients who are not currently advertising.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following (though other duties may be assigned as applicable): Service, maintain and develop all existing advertising accounts in recruitment category as assigned by supervisor. Develop and maintain account records and territory sales call plans. Develop and possess a thorough understanding of recruitment advertising. Identify potentially misleading or false advertising. Demonstrate a successful record identifying and developing new sales and inactive advertisers in recruitment as assigned by supervisor. Order advertisements and follow through entire process to insure accuracy and compliance with Company's deadlines, credit policies and customer's specifications. Write layout and artwork specifications for advertisements. Sell contracts for advertising. Handle all billing problems relating to accounts for which responsible. Coordinate with support staff on handling of ad copy and orders. Applicant must have demonstrated ability to use marketing and research material and effectively deliver successful sales presentations. Develop and maintain a solid knowledge of competing media, marketing and industry practices. Maintain required advertising lineage for category as determined by supervisor. Handle additional related assignments as assigned by supervisor. File sales, mileage, and other reports as required by Company records. Adhere to credit and office procedures; administer exceptions in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Two to five years outside sales experience and/or two to five years experience in recruitment advertising sales highly preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES Computer Skills Some typing skills and computer skills preferred. Certificates & License Hold a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license and must have car available for work. Other Requirements
Effective oral and written communication skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills. Professional attire and appearance at all times. Excellent presentation skills, demonstrated ability to deliver sales presentations. Proven ability to build client relationships and develop creative ideas. Possess superior customer service skills. Must understand the importance of voluntarily attending client and community events outside of regular work hours. Proven sales track record. Possess ad layout or related skills.
