About Our Client
I am currently working with a high growth, privately held, global, manufacturer of world-class products located in the North Suburbs of Chicago The company is growing through strategic acquisitions to grow their manufacturing footprint, and are now seeking to add an Assistant Controller to the team!
Reporting into the Controller with daily communication to the CFO, you will have full ownership of the Accounting & Finance function, while leading and mentoring a team of 5+ individuals. As the Assistant Controller, you will also drive key process improvements to create efficiencies within the organization involving month-end, costing, system implementations, and more.
Job Description
Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards. Collaborate with the Controller to analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making. Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing financial statements for accuracy. Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial information and analysis to assist in strategic planning. Analyze variances between budgeted and actual results, providing explanations and recommendations for improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and other departments, to gather and analyze financial information. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and share knowledge with the team. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred. Experience in accounting or finance roles, with a manufacturing company Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. What's on Offer
