We are looking for a Marketing Director for exterior home improvement products in the DC, MD, VA region. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with a range of home improvement products pertaining to windows, roofing, siding, gutters, and insulation. Likewise, the right person will have experience as a manager supporting various sales and operations teams. This position is direct hire, full time, on site in Falls Church, Virginia.
Required Qualities:
5 years of exterior home improvement experience
3 years of management experience
3 years of marketing, sales or relevant applicable experience
Preferred Qualities:
Hands-on experience leading or managing a marketing/sales team
Experience with business strategy and direct reports to company leadership
Duties:
General
Adopt current and improve sales and marketing systems, while leading and contributing to multiple teams.
Provide marketing and sales strategies across teams to maintain and improve company branding, outreach, and client relationships.
Provide direct reports, operations analysis, and growth strategies to company leadership.
Promote cross-department collaboration, and implement marketing initiatives.
Strategy & Planning
Developing Comprehensive Marketing Strategies: Create and implement marketing plans that drive leads, sales, and brand awareness. This includes setting goals for each channel (canvassing, events, inbound, call center) and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
Budget Management: Allocate the marketing budget across canvassing, events, inbound (digital, video, content), and call center initiatives to ensure maximum return on investment (ROI) while staying within financial constraints.
Canvassing
Team Management: Oversee canvassing teams to ensure they are hitting their lead-generation targets.
Lead Quality Control: Ensure that leads generated from door-to-door canvassing are qualified and properly tracked in the CRM system.
Training and Optimization: Work with managers to train canvassing staff on scripts, pitches, and customer engagement tactics to improve efficiency and conversion rates.
Events Marketing
Event Planning & Execution: Identify and coordinate home shows, local events, and community outreach opportunities to generate leads. Ensure effective setup, staffing, and follow-up for all events.
ROI Analysis: Regularly analyze the ROI of each event to determine which ones yield the most valuable leads and adjust strategies accordingly.
Brand Representation: Ensure that the company’s brand is consistently represented across all events.
Inbound Marketing (Digital, Content, Video)
SEO and Website Management: Oversee website optimization, ensuring it’s generating inbound leads via strong SEO strategies, user-friendly design, and calls to action.
Content Strategy: Develop a content calendar for blogs, case studies, how-to guides, and other educational materials that drive traffic and improve customer engagement.
Video Marketing: Manage the creation of video content, from customer testimonials to project showcases, ensuring they are engaging and drive inbound traffic.
Digital Advertising: Lead paid ad campaigns (PPC, social media, display ads) to generate quality leads, and ensure constant testing and refinement.
Social Media & Community Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with local influencers, community groups, and homeowners through social media and outreach programs.
Online Reviews: Monitor and encourage positive online reviews, and manage responses to customer feedback on platforms like Google and Yelp.
Call Center Marketing
Lead Management: Ensure that all leads (inbound, canvassing, events) are properly funneled into the call center for follow-up and scheduling of estimates or appointments.
Training & Scripting: Collaborate with call center managers to ensure representatives are well-trained on scripts and objection handling to maximize appointment conversion rates.
Tracking & Reporting: Monitor call center KPIs (call-to-appointment ratio, appointment show rates) and adjust marketing campaigns based on performance.
Customer Reviews & Employee Engagement
Customer Review Strategy: Develop strategies to encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews and testimonials on platforms like Google, social media, and home improvement sites.
Employee Advocacy: Engage employees as brand ambassadors to share their experiences, reviews, and promote the company’s culture to help attract both talent and customers.
Internal Communication: Keep employees engaged with marketing efforts through internal newsletters, updates, and incentives for contributing to content (e.g., jobsite photos, testimonials).
Data Analysis & Reporting
Performance Tracking: Analyze data across all channels (canvassing, events, inbound, call center) to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement. This includes website traffic, lead conversions, sales volume, and campaign effectiveness.
Regular Reporting: Provide detailed marketing reports to the executive team, showing the impact of marketing activities on overall sales and growth.
Collaboration & Leadership
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with business goals and operational capacity.
Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor the marketing team, including those in content creation, social media, and customer engagement roles.
