The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for one or more part-time assistant adjunct positions in Chinese culture studies starting Spring 2025. Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. degree by March 2025 in one or more of the following: Chinese language; Chinese culture; education; or other related areas. Three years or more of experience in teaching Chinese culture studies courses at the college level is desirable. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The salary range for this position is $78,200 - $86,600. This annual salary rate reflects a 100% appointment. The selected candidate's salary rate will be prorated based on the designated percentage of time. "Off-scale salaries", i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity-related teaching, research, and/or service. Women and minority candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
