Daikin Applied is seeking a
Mechanical Designer II
who will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Mechanical Designer I will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost have been considered. Location:
Hybrid, Staunton, VA What you will do: Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness Complete work assignments within the determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic Be part of and function in a team environment including cross-functional and inter-departmental teams

Minimum Qualifications: Vocational, Technical, or Associate of Applied Science degree in design/drafting 2+ years of related design experience Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in sheet metal design and/or HVAC products is desired Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD/DraftSight is a plus
