Summary
Supervises the day-to-day activities and operations of the rigging work group. Supervises the day to day activities related to the strategy. Manages the safety, quality, scheduling and budget of all assigned rigging work. This position will support our Audio Visual & Event Technology team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of San Francisco, CA. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties, and supervises and dispatches all work performed to ensure quality and safety; interprets company policies to workers. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Performs activities of workers supervised. Designates the loading and unloading area with the best possible security. Prepares and/or reviews the load list. Works with Rigging Coordinator to prepare labor requirements for move-in. Selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved. Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps, and attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook. Provides directions to Overhead Crane Operator or Hoisting Engineer engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled. Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, and splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle. Submits proper paperwork that is pertinent to billing. Updates production schedule and labor list for dismantle. Ensures that all equipment is returned, and broken or damaged equipment is tagged for repair. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 2 - 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AutoCAD and/or Vector Works proficiency. At least five years of production/theatrical rigging experience. Prior experience in the audio visual and/or hospitality industry. ETCP Certification and Aerial Work Platform Certification required. CM-ET Maintenance training certification required. Strong technical aptitude. Planning ability; able to plan ahead and prioritize. Adaptability; able to adapt effectively to change. Excellent organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Strong team player orientation. Ability to effectively manage client expectations and labor budget. Skills in AutoCAD or, equivalent program desired. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
ETCP Arena Rigging certification desired, Certified on CM hoist desired. Certificate of completion, boom lift & scissor lift. Certification card for industrial lift trucks & pallet jacks. What We Offer
