The Senior Manager, Tax has direct responsibility for handling of all tax matters related to the organization and business units working in conjunction with the Executive Director, Tax. The Senior Manager, Tax should exhibit outstanding people and leadership skills which will further develop over time with the Enterprise placing this person in a position for increased responsibility and advancement within the Enterprise. Among the technical proficiencies which should be exhibited; include, but are not limited to, tax return compliance, tax provision and financial reporting, tax controversy, and tax planning, both within the U.S. and internationally. Responsibilities will include; Detailed review of quarterly and annual income tax provision for financial reporting; including ASC 740 (FIN 48) and deferred tax assets and liabilities; Provides support with building the processes and calendar to ensure a smooth connection among accounting, tax compliance and tax accounting functions; Accountability for maintenance and compliance of key SOX controls related to tax accounting; Overview and Direction in the preparation of federal, international, and state and local tax filings including extensions, estimates, returns and workpapers; Oversees the preparation and review of sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, gross receipts returns and other non-income tax returns; Coordinates special projects such as the R&D credit; Assists with coordinating VAT/GST payments and related issues; Coordination of federal, international and state tax audit activities; Detailed reviews the analysis and reconciliation of general ledger tax accounts; Analyzes and review intercompany transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy; Assists the business development team by providing advice and conducting due diligence on M&A transactions; Coordinates the preparation of transfer pricing studies; Performs special projects; Performs analysis to recommend solutions of tax related issues; Performs tax research and planning; Performs other responsibilities for our people and teams. Additional Responsibilities Provides financial and technical tax leadership. Provides strong technical ability to the department and takes a major role in the development and training of our staff. Provides insights, identify trends, model scenarios, and identify risks and opportunities for the Enterprise. Provides expertise to leadership and stakeholders in interpreting financial statements and complex tax matters. Keeps up to date with tax legislation, SEC Regulations, and US GAAP changes, practice and global developments Leads and resolves tax controversy arising from audits. Leads cross-functional project teams including business users, consultants, and contractors. Coordinates solutions of moderate to difficult scope and complexity with other departments, locations, and divisions. Coaches and mentors less experienced team members. Skills and Requirements 8-10 years in public accounting or private industry experience in applicable tax discipline Excellent project management skills; ability to identify and management highly complex projects based on strategic priorities of the business unit and organization. Minimum 3 years management of people experiences CPA preferred Masters in Tax/Accounting recommended Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
