The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for an Associate Director of Batten's Center for Social Innovation. The successful candidate will help to further the research goals of the Center as well as manage the logistics of the budget and maintain the partnerships of the center. This position is ideal for recent or soon-to-be graduates seeking hands-on pre-doctoral experience conducting rigorous research on climate change. Employee status (part-time or full-time) is flexible at 20-40 hours per week, though 40 hours per week is preferred. The ideal candidate will expect to spend 6-18 months in this role, contingent on satisfactory performance. The Associate Director works in partnership with the Center's Academic Director to develop relationships with partner NGOs, government offices, and private enterprises with the potential for research projects. The Associate Director manages student research assistants and writes grant proposals to further the research done at the center. The Associate Director manages the logistics, data inflow, and analysis related to the Center's research projects, and works closely with partner organizations. The anticipated start date is January 2, 2025 or as soon as possible. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, statistics, computer science, or related field. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of Stata and/or R. The following qualifications are desirable but not required: Strong knowledge of GIS is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants with experience managing and running randomized controlled trials. Experience with academic and grant writing is preferred but not required. Anticipated hiring range:
