at UL Research Institutes. This is a hybrid opportunity based in our Evanston, IL office. The

Events Manager

will take ownership of ULRI's sponsored and owned events, driving success in both virtual and in-person environments. This role reports to the Director of Marketing Planning and Operations and would oversee the company's events and conference strategy, including event conceptualization, planning and execution, programming and agenda, budget management, logistics, and operations. The Events Manager will serve as a key contributor in the company, partnering with leadership and internal and external stakeholders to ensure corporate goals are achieved, as well as representing ULRI on various committees. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event strategy & production, strong organizational, partnering and communication skills, and a track record of executing corporate events aligned with company goals. What you'll learn and achieve:

As the

Events Manager , you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you: Lead the end-to-end strategy, planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, including external and internal events. Manage a portfolio of events with varying levels of complexity, including conferences, trade shows, webinars, and executive roundtables. Handle all aspects of event execution, including project management, budget ownership, speaker management, contract negotiations, exhibit planning, venue coordination, and real-time operations both on-site and on virtual platforms. Develop event strategies to generate qualified leads, nurture prospects, and support brand awareness. Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, brand, product marketing, Public Relations and others to ensure seamless event integration into larger marketing campaigns and initiatives. Serve as a trusted partner to marketing leadership and align event objectives with company-wide goals. Manage third party vendor relationships, including event agencies, freelancers, venues, and AV providers. Continuously assess event processes and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Manage a team of event professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment that values skill development and continuous learning. Oversee team allocation, ensuring each event is appropriately staffed and resourced to deliver a successful experience within budget and timeline constraints. Establish and maintain data tracking systems to measure and analyze event success, including attendee feedback, engagement levels, return on investment, and overall event impact. Use analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize future events, and make informed recommendations to senior management. Responsible for summarizing event performance for leadership, illustrating insights and actionable outcomes and future recommendations for improvements. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving processes and team efficiencies. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in event marketing, with demonstrated success managing a diverse portfolio of events with a focus on data analytics, budgeting, and impact measurement.
