Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Purchasing Director
to lead and manage the procurement operations within our hospitality organization. The Purchasing Director will be responsible for sourcing high-quality products and services, negotiating contracts, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring cost efficiency while upholding the organization’s standards. This role is vital to ensuring the seamless operation of our hospitality business, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and facilities management. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals. Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and quality improvements. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Evaluate vendor performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and service standards. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts to achieve optimal pricing and service agreements. Monitor compliance with contractual obligations. Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages. Implement systems to track inventory usage and reduce waste. Cost Management: Monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure cost control. Identify areas for cost reductions without compromising quality. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with local and international laws and regulations. Address risks associated with supplier performance or market changes. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Provide training and development opportunities for team members. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry. Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop strategic partnerships. Proficient in procurement software and tools, with strong analytical skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of hospitality operations, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and facilities management. Work Environment: This position operates in a fast-paced environment requiring collaboration with multiple departments, including culinary, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.
