Cyber Security Engineer

Position Description CGI is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join the Financial Services Retail Lending technology organization and lead security related design, implementation, remediation, and maintenance initiatives. The position has a broad area of responsibilities that requires working closely with the software teams, architecture, and management, analyzing security posture of the organizations IP assets, implementation projects, and deployments.

The role should be able to cover the following security focus areas and define organizational direction for the following: Risk Assessment Security Architecture Design Vulnerability Management Incident Response Security Policy Adherence Monitoring and Analysis Threat Modeling and Intelligence Gathering

Primary focus will be on CGI Credit Studio (cloud native, micro services architecture) and management of security elements on-prem and in public cloud for development and client implementation programs.

This role can be remote but the preferred to location in Knoxville, TN CGI office. This position can be located anywhere in the U.S. including Lafayette, LA; Belton, TX or Columbus, OH. The partner will work East Coast hours.

Your future duties and responsibilities Security Point of Contact - The candidate will work in close contact with security groups in CGI, program managers in development, implementation, and maintenance to coordinate drive security activities needed to comply with security guidelines for the Financial Services Retail Lending sector. Facilitate the investigation and engineering new approaches for improving management and efficiency of vulnerability remediation processes, reporting, and related security functions. Support internal and external security audit events, presenting supported policy, procedure, and solution for sector IP assets and environments. Enable sector IP assets and environments to meet or exceed related compliance targets. Vulnerability Scans Results Analysis - Govern the review of security scan outputs and oversee and sanction analysis and action plans for actioning vulnerabilities. Open Source Software/Third Party Software - Oversee and sanction the scanning of components, review report vulnerabilities and support development of approaches for addressing vulnerabilities. Reporting - Oversee the tracking the inventory of security vulnerabilities, security defects and engage with management reporting on status and trending. Client Support - Variety of tasks related to client interaction that the candidate may be involved in support of the sectors security posture. Some examples are: Provide subject matter expertise for security solutioning of sector implementation projects/environments, defect remediation, help with responses to client issues, creating an action plan for remediation within SLA, etc. Provide oversight and mentoring of security engineers and team members that are focused on security issue management and remediation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role Five years of experience as a cybersecurity professional At least seven years of hands-on experience as a software developer with solid Java and Spring Framework fundamentals, and experience with cloud computing and components, e.g., with Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Proficient understanding of network security protocols (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS) Experience with scripting and automation tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required The candidate should have Cybersecurity Certifications, e.g., CISSP, CCSP, SSCP and education in the cybersecurity area pertinent to the job requirements and responsibilities. Two years of experience with Azure security services and monitoring tools. Expertise in application security practices (secure coding, OWASP) Proficiency in security tools and technologies (CAST, vulnerability scanners) Understanding on impacts of AI technologies on security and ability to align adoption

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $125,500 - 219,600 CGI anticipates accepting applications for this position through February 28, 2024.
