Solutions Architect

The Solutions Architect role performs both pre-sales and post-sales activities including support of the sales team in pre-sales activities, working with vendors and customers to determine requirements, designing solutions based on those requirements, implementing network & security infrastructure designed primarily based on Cisco and Meraki technologies, and ongoing support of customer production networks and security. Compensation for this position includes base salary and commission on sales and services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with and supports the sales teams in a pre-sale's role by designing network and security solutions to meet customer business requirements.
• Become the trusted advisor to our customers by providing technical leadership and vision
• Technical Pre-Sales network design/engineering
• Provide architectural network design expertise to Sales team and customers.
• Attend sales appointments with Account teams as a technical expert
• Create estimates for professional services work.
• Create Statements of Work and Bill of Materials
• Work with partners to provide Proof of Concepts and demos for customers
• Perform post-sales implementation of new networking solutions at customer sites.
• Configuring network hardware such as Cisco/Meraki switches, routers, firewalls, and Cisco Nexus Data Center Solutions.
• Support, setup and configure complex networking environments.
• Troubleshooting network issues in production environments.
• VPN/remote connection setup and infrastructure support for remote configurations.
• Configure and setup Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
• Troubleshooting defective devices, logical issues, or systematic errors on a wide range of technologies.
• Managing assigned projects and activities to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
• Solid understanding of current data center and network technologies.
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge: This position requires 2+ years in pre-sales, customer facing role. 5+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting network issues. Bachelor degree in information technology or equivalent experience. Industry standard professional or expert level certification.
2. Skills: Familiarity with Local and Wide Area Networks, Data Communications including the internet, DHCP, DNS, and the OSI model. Familiarity with IPv4 subnetting, VLAN configuration, trunking protocols, and remote access using telnet, SSH, and RDP. Advanced understating of wired, wireless, and network security.
3. Abilities: Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to create and use networking diagrams, cable run lists, and rack elevations for troubleshooting. Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Visio. Highly self-motivated and directed Ability to travel 25-50%.
