Job Description
The Director of Park Operations manages the day-to-day park operations for SeaWorld Orlando to ensure guest and ambassador satisfaction and safety. Responsible for the oversight of guest arrivals, ride operations, park quality and cleanliness, horticulture, ambassador training, scheduling, and all other duties as assigned. What You Get To Do
Daily management of all park operations to ensure compliance with established operational and safety standards. Responsible for training programs and SOP’s, ensuring that safety, quality, employee engagement and guest courtesy are paramount. Proactively manage the guest and ambassador experience, striving to ensure all pain points are prevented and any concerns are resolved in a timely manner. Clearly communicate ambassador expectations; using positive reinforcement and consistent follow-up to ensure behaviors align with expectations. Develop a positive teamwork environment that cultivates a diverse and inclusive workforce. Manage the inventory and ordering of equipment and operating supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources and that ambassadors are using the proper tools for the job. Coordinate and participate in the Park Duty Manager program. Work closely with Human Resources and Scheduling to ensure maximum efficiency in labor utilization. Assist in the development, planning, and administration of annual operating budgets and delivery of the financial performance for assigned areas. Effectively manage labor, including identifying hiring needs, screening and selection, training, scheduling, and retention. Ensure cross utilization of labor among parks or departments, supporting and encouraging synergy. Assist other park operating departments at SeaWorld, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove as needed. What It Takes To Succeed
Five years theme park operations leadership experience, or bachelor’s degree and equivalent combination of experience. Intermediate computer skills (including Excel, Word, financial systems, and Outlook). Understanding of financial management, with the ability to manage significant budgets effectively. Demonstrate initiative, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; confident and outgoing presence with the ability to professionally interact with various levels of ambassadors and leadership. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with a detail-oriented style. Experience in developing and implementing effective training and development programs, including written materials and presentations. Foster adaptability within assigned work group/area. Lead by example in an ever-changing climate, be open and set the example for willingness to new ideas and opportunities. Embrace and positively communicate change, always with a sense of urgency. Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations. Comply with and ensure ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards. Ability to stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions and be comfortable with heights. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines. Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license and be able to meet SeaWorld driving guidelines (or obtain as required). The Perks Of The Position
