Imperva is looking for an experienced and passionate analyst relations expert to lead our entire Analyst Relations program. This individual will report to the Imperva Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for developing and executing the plan to build and maintain lasting, credible relationships with top-tier and specialized analyst firms. In this capacity, the candidate will work closely with product management, product marketing, product development, and sales leaders to effectively communicate Imperva’s unique security value proposition and differentiation to the analyst community. If you understand security, have a knack for competitive positioning, and want to help expand our leadership, then this position is for you. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams, experience evaluating qualitative and quantitative IT industry research, and excellent critical thinking skills. This is a strategic role, and the candidate must be comfortable working with a variety of experts at all levels of the business. Experience with strategy development, security trends, software-as-a-service, and security technologies are a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES:
You must have the experience necessary to lead strategic analyst relations programs; be knowledgeable about current cybersecurity market trends, product categories, and challenges; have strong analyst relationships; and be able to collaborate with key constituents on the development of presentations and demos that keep analysts up-to-date on company and product strategy and roadmaps, new product enhancements, high-profile customer deployments, and company news. You already know how to engage with analysts on all of these topics and how to drive inquiries, briefings, or other types of analyst interactions towards successful outcomes (great coverage and positive relationships!). Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry analysts, as well as internal stakeholders Work closely with product marketing, product management, engineering, and finance to develop a targeted analyst relations strategy that articulates Imperva’s value proposition Execute briefings and inquiries with relevant analysts and company spokespeople to ensure ongoing engagement with Imperva, its market strategies, and products Monitor key analyst activity on social networks, and engage or recommend appropriate SME engagement – opportunistically. Also, monitor for general tone/sentiment on topics of interest Maintain a schedule of relevant upcoming research, and engage with product marketing, product management, and others to position Imperva in the most favorable light within this research Keep current on competitive landscape and developments in our space, and share relevant analyst research with senior management Manage the annual Gartner Magic Quadrant and Forrester Wave evaluation processes to ensure best position Provide strategic counsel to senior management as to how to best engage with key influencers within the analyst community Assist SMEs/spokespeople in preparing content tailored for specific analyst audiences Manage budgets, scope of engagement, and overall vendor relationships — conducting annual contract negotiations, procuring special services, inquiries, or strategy days Support and educate sales on analyst views and AR resources available to them Act as a key leader within the Imperva Marketing team, contributing to marketing programs across PR, customer and content marketing, and demand generation campaigns QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or relevant discipline 8-10 years in analyst relations, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or other relevant experience Knowledge of security technologies and the security market is a huge plus International experience is very desirable Ability to work independently and as part of a team Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills Demonstrated ability to work with SMEs to distill complex topics down to key analyst takeaways Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to pay attention to detail is critical OUR COMPANY:
