About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Manager of Tax
to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Vice President of Tax, this position will play a critical role in managing Ellucian’s tax provision and compliance functions as well as identifying and executing on tax planning opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ASC 740 and tax return preparation, along with a proven ability to navigate complex tax environments, analyze and apply changes in tax law to the company’s structure and collaborate across functions within the organization. Where you will make an impact Tax Accounting & Provision Preparation of the company’s quarterly and annual global tax provision in compliance with ASC-740, leveraging support of in-house tax team and external advisers. Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process, including deferred tax asset/liability analysis, effective tax rate calculations, tax account reconciliations and financial statement disclosures. Primary point of contact for external auditors during tax provision review and financial statement audits. Tax Compliance Manage out-sourced tax compliance processes for US federal, state, local, and international tax returns. This includes providing data and preparing tax computations to external tax advisors for compliance and filings, including global transfer pricing documentation studies. Preparation of quarterly estimated tax payments. Monitor and respond to tax authority inquiries and audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and providing any necessary defense. Navigate and implement Pillar 2 requirements as well as comply with CBCR reporting under BEPs. Strategic Tax Planning/Other Provide technical tax expertise to support business initiatives and transactions. Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiency in alignment with company objectives. Stay abreast of tax law changes and assess their impact on the company. Provide M&A support including due diligence and purchase accounting for acquisitions. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to support business strategies and ensure tax considerations are incorporated into decision-making. Educate internal stakeholders on tax policies, risks, and opportunities. Leadership & Mentorship Lead and mentor a high-performing tax team, fostering professional growth and development. Drive process improvements and implement best practices within the tax function. What you will bring Minimum of 10 years of experience in a large corporate tax department and/or Big 4. Expertise in ASC 740, including exposure to purchase accounting and other advanced tax accounting topics. Significant experience in corporate tax return preparation and compliance, with US international tax knowledge and global exposure preferred. Ability to efficiently and effectively utilize PC software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), tax provision software (One Source OTP), and tax research tools. Working knowledge over indirect tax compliance and related matters including sales/use/VAT preferred. Strong tax research and documentation skills.
