Senior Financial Analyst American Public Education, Inc. APEI is actively seeking a Senior Financial Analyst-IT to join our Finance Department. This vital role involves close collaboration with Finance and IT leadership to spearhead IT financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities. The successful candidate will be pivotal in forecasting, capital planning, time analysis, and expense charge back. This role will be responsible for working with FP&A and leading the IT budget process, performance reporting, and partnering with IT on vendor management. Responsibilities: Lead the IT Budget process, coordinating with various stakeholders to develop a comprehensive budget that aligns with strategic goals. Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets and financial models to facilitate informed decision-making. Perform IT monthly forecasting to project future financial scenarios and pinpoint areas for improvement working closely with Finance, IT, and FP&A. Lead capital planning efforts, assessing the financial impact and ROI of proposed IT projects. Conduct time analysis to ensure efficient resource utilization and alignment with company-wide tracking methods. Partner with Procurement and IT on vendor relationships, negotiating contracts to achieve cost-effective procurement of services and products, and correct GL coding and company assignment of goods and services. Collaborate with IT and FP&A teams to integrate IT financial management with enterprise financial strategies. Provide regular financial reports analyses to the Finance and IT leadership, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve expense control and charge backs to the EU's. Manage and enhance the enterprise chargeback system, ensuring precise and equitable cost distribution. Ensure proficiency with financial systems, specifically, Apptio, Prophix, and Microsoft Dynamics GP, ensuring a solid understanding of the financial platforms and support the Finance and FP&A teams in their duties. Offer strategic insights by delivering actionable financial intelligence and recommendations. Drive the company's financial performance through cost optimization and strategic investment planning. Act as a financial authority within the IT department, encouraging the sharing of knowledge and financial best practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: At least 5-10 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with a preference for experience in IT or technology sectors. Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis tools. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of presenting complex financial data succinctly. Proven experience in vendor management and optimizing chargeback systems in a complex enterprise setting. Bachelor's degree required; preferred Finance/Accounting.
