As Director, Supply Chain, you will join an entrepreneurial business culture that moves very quickly. We frequently work on new applications with Fortune 500 companies that have new product requirements – making sourcing and supply chain management a mission critical activity for our business. We’re all player/coaches at Mott with an agile organizational structure. The primary role will focus on 4 functions:
Create a Global Supply Chain:
Identify capable suppliers who share Mott’s propensity for excellence in quality, speed, delivery and customization. Achieve World Class Customer Fulfillment:
Manage the flow of raw material from vendors to customers enabling us to achieve a market leading fulfillment rate in each of our industries through effective material planning processes including SIOP. Frame Investment Decisions:
Analyze and facilitate “make vs buy” decisions and outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Develop strategic sourcing plan for new capabilities, minimizing the risk of sole sourcing & ensuring our operations have conforming material when they need it. Proactively source, qualify, and negotiate purchases with suppliers for product bill of materials, new engineering projects, and production & facility consumables. Reduce our bill of material costs annually without compromising vendor performance or product quality. Develop and Implement SIOP and MRP processes. Facilitate “Make vs Buy” investment analysis and execute on strategy. This role will have oversight of the following teams: procurement, supplier quality, powder operations, logistics. Major Challenges: Limited starting supplier base and global partnerships. Complex technical and material requirements for components may stretch suppliers’ capabilities. Diversity in Mott products means a long list of vendor/product needs. Proactively mitigate risk of critical single source parts / capabilities. Connect seemingly divergent technologies to immediate needs. Expected Performance Outcomes (in 12-24 months): Effective SIOP & MRP processes implemented. Supplier on time delivery of 98% or better each year to our requested delivery dates (12 Months). Zero defect quality program with each of our critical vendors (24 Months).
