The Senior Events Operations Manager will oversee management of Manhattan events and tradeshows from concept to completion, working with team members of varying levels of experience and skill, vendor partnerships, manage budgets, order services, create timelines, and meet all deadlines on time. The Senior Event Operations Manager will provide input/insights as a SME in either internal, external, and/or virtual events management. The person will liaise directly with stakeholders throughout the company to ensure processes and deadlines as well as goals and objectives are established and met throughout the planning and executing process. They will guide the strategy of the events/tradeshow and support sales and marketing efforts in assessing the event need, determining ROI and building strong brand presence for assigned events. They will support program proposals, develop and maintain project plans, produce project status reports and represent our events team as the face of the organization. The Senior Event Manager will serve as the internal SME for the event platform functionality and development of event website & registration functionality to ensure positive attendee experience. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment is critical to the role, while focusing on attention to detail and excellence in event execution. KEY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 8+ years' experience leading complex events and tradeshows, preferably in the technology/software environment Demonstrated experience in strategic decision-making and ROI analysis of events/tradeshows Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated ability to drive results and outcomes. Experience with project management tools and/or Monday.com preferred Ability to foster collaboration and teamwork across functional groups Excellent written and verbal communication skills Flexibility to react quickly in a fast-paced high-growth environment Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.) Must be adept at Excel - maintaining spreadsheets, pivot tables, budget management, database lists. Must have an equal skillset with PowerPoint for building playbooks, presentations for a wide variety of stakeholder groups. Experience working in Cvent (registration, exhibitor portal, supplier network), Jifflenow, webinar platforms, Leas Liasion ~ Captello, or other events management/project management tools Ability to lift to 25lbs and occasionally stand for long periods of time Travel up to 30% EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree required Industry designation such as CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), CMM (Certificate in Meeting Management), CTSM (Certified Trade Show Marketer) preferred Principal Duties and Responsibilities Assess current strategy to determine its effectiveness relative to desired business objectives and identify tools, processes, and influencers to streamline the planning and execution processes. Conceptualize, develop and promote virtual, in-person and hybrid events with an emphasis on creating a positive attendee experience for customer/user conferences, sales meetings, corporate town halls and other Manhattan sponsored events Lead the planning and execution of enterprise-wide, complex events, tradeshows and strategic sponsorships and activate cross-functional resources throughout the planning process. Develop and deliver project plans outlining expectations and timelines for each event incorporating deadlines and requirements across cross-functional internal and external teams. Resolve conflicts and devise contingency plans, communicate decisions, deadlines and direction throughout the project to key stakeholders and team members. Manage site selection, RFP creation and management, with analytical recaps Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with outside vendors Develop event agendas and manage all schedules (tech rehearsals, speaker rehearsals, set-up, tear down, etc.) Develop and maintain detailed budget based on approved budget for each event/tradeshow. Collaborate with Creative Services to ensure brand messaging and consistency of brand standards are applied for in person and virtual event channels Align resources to support events including communications, speakers, equipment, presentations, printed materials, promotional items, registration packets, food and beverage orders, rooming lists, web registration, hotel arrangements, content, budget, etc. Develop post-event reports and analyses to determine effectiveness of each event as well as recommendations for similar events Apply current technology to meetings and events Scope of Impact/Degree of Independence: Contribute to departmental goals and strategic plans. Failure to achieve goals will have critical impact on success of functional area(s). Problem Complexity/Decision Making Authority: Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, willingness to handle administrative aspects of the position, and ability to multi-task and prioritize activities. Ability to manage tight deadlines and budgets. Ability to work independently and follow direction in a fast-paced environment. Relationship Skills: Regularly interact with various functional leaders and outside vendors.
