*This opportunity is mainly remote, with occasional in person meetings, so all candidates must reside in the National Capital Region. Cybersecurity Information Assurance Engineer (Intermediate) / ICAM Administrator (Mid-Level) Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cybersecurity Information Assurance Engineer (Intermediate) to serve as an ICAM Administrator (Mid-Level). In this role, you will work under general supervision to support the Task Lead in establishing and operating the organization’s Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) program. You will be responsible for the development of information systems assurance programs, control guidelines, and the design and implementation of policies, procedures, and technologies to manage digital identities, credentials, and access controls across all platforms. The ideal candidate will assist in modernizing the ICAM system, deploying a unified identity management framework, and ensuring security best practices are upheld. Key Responsibilities: Assist in developing and maintaining information systems assurance programs and control guidelines to enhance organizational security. Support the Task Lead in the establishment and operation of the ICAM program, ensuring that it bolsters the organization’s security posture and operational efficiency. Design and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to effectively manage digital identities, credentials, and access controls across all systems and platforms. Evaluate the existing ecosystem of identity, credential, and access management practices, determining optimal approaches for modernization, whether through migration or integration with enterprise ICAM solutions. Deploy a unified identity management framework that ensures secure, seamless user authentication and authorization processes. Implement phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods to strengthen user access security and prevent unauthorized access. Prioritize the standardization of credential issuance, management, and revocation processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, FISMA, etc.). Assist in resolving technical issues, identifying priorities, and improving methods for managing identity and access controls. Ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations in managing digital identities and access controls. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in the management of identity systems and processes. Collaborate with internal teams to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the ICAM program, ensuring that it remains responsive to evolving threats and needs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) or related disciplines. IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, GIAC, or equivalent). Experience with designing and implementing ICAM solutions, including digital identity management, credentialing, and access controls. Familiarity with multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods and secure authentication processes. Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements for identity and access management (e.g., NIST, FISMA). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and resolve technical issues. Strong understanding of digital identity frameworks and technologies. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and with key stakeholders. Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud-based ICAM solutions and integration with on-premises systems. Familiarity with modern identity management tools and technologies, including OAuth, SAML, or LDAP. Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in identity and access management.
