Job Description
Position Title: Interventionist
Position Type: $50,246 / Exempt; this position is funded by grant funds (State-comp Ed), which is solely based on the need of the campus.
Position Hours: Full-time; Monday - Friday; 40 Hours per Week
Length of Term/Employment: 190 workdays / At-will
Reports To: Campus Principal
Position Mission: The Interventionist will collaborate with classroom teachers to support student learning and reduce the achievement gap. The Interventionist will use data to inform and drive instruction to assist classroom teachers in improving instruction in math, reading, and writing to instruct at-risk students.
Position Minimum Qualifications:
* Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited Institute of higher learning and be able to show official transcripts showing degree awarded. * Must have proven record of educational success and excellence through innovation and personal commitment in the appropriate subject. * Must fully believe in the mission and vision of Jubilee Academic Center.
Job Duties:
Instructional Strategies:
Research and provide content knowledge and resources to staff about learning and teaching mathematics- including:
* Instructional strategies; * Assessment of mathematical, reading, or writing skills; * Interpretation of assessment results; etc. * Assist with Curriculum Writing.
Research and prepare materials for the use by the district, departments, schools, and teachers including:
* Assist in creation of formative assessments. (Benchmarks, six-weeks, etc.) ? Interpretation of assessment results; etc.
Research and provide information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative mathematics practices through various activities such as:
* Individual discussions (informal and formal); * Coaching sessions; * Model Lessons. * Demonstration lesions with pre- and post-discussion/analysis; * Study groups; * Staff meetings; and * Professional development programs * Maintain paperwork consistently, appropriately and in a timely manner. * Maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms. * Work closely with classroom teacher to determine the most effective strategies to support at-risk student learning, design the appropriate instructional interventions for students identified as at-risk and share student progress over the course of the school year. * Assist teachers in the delivery of a strongly aligned district curriculum by providing academic support to at-risk students through differentiated instructional strategies, small-group interventions and implementation of individual student plan strategies. * Work with classroom teacher to develop a student-centered system of intervention that effectively works to close the achievement gap in math, reading, or writing for at-risk students. * Ensures that students are able to master grade level standards and curriculum by providing one-on-one instruction to at-risk students in math, reading, or writing. * Collaborates with classroom teachers and others to use student data to plan, implement, and alter instruction for at-risk students.
Communication:
* Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, directors, and teachers. * Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. * Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Professional Growth and Development:
* Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Other:
* Completes other duties as assigned by the teacher to promote the Title 1 instructional program. * Work week schedule: Work day begins at 7:30 a.m. * Adhere to staff dress code. * Keep Jubilee Academies' administration informed of maintenance problems. o Actively support and participate in fundraising activities of Jubilee Academies. * Compile, maintain, and complete all report, records, and other documents that are required. * Actively stay abreast of new developments in education. * Some Saturday work may be required. * Travel may be required.

* Convey the charter's mission to the public and encourage support in accomplishing the mission. * Illustrate understanding of Charter and community needs and begin activities to meet those needs. * Demonstrate use of productive and efficient skills to raise community and parent involvement. * Actively participate in student recruitment efforts.
