Location: Peoria, IL USA Requisition ID: 1024641 Posting Close Date: 3/11/2025 Budgeted Salary Range: $173,000 to $209,417 The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of four pediatric endocrinologists, two APNs, certified diabetes educators and dieticians, and dedicated diabetes social workers. We welcome candidates with a strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills for collaborative work with experienced clinic staff and with other divisions in the Department of Pediatrics. We currently have three satellite clinics and offer a multidisciplinary ADA-certified diabetes clinic model, and a Bone Clinic. We are expanding a Cancer Survivor’s Clinic in collaboration with Hematology Oncology. Future projects include further Cooperation with our department’s obesity program. Interested candidates with a special interest in the endocrine late effects of cancer therapy, obesity complications, and type 2 diabetes are encouraged to apply. Collaboration with a local pediatric gender clinic is also feasible within the year.

Our Pediatric Department offers ample opportunity to pursue personal interests in education and teaching, community development, quality improvement, and clinical research.

The position includes teaching medical students and residents in the department; providing inpatient services and clinical care for hospitalized patients at the OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, UICOMP’s main clinical partner; participating in scholarly work through quality, safety or research initiatives; and performing other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and administration. Position Summary The Division if Pediatric Endocrinology at the DOP at UICOMP is looking for an energetic BC/BE pediatric endocrinologist with interest in inpatient and outpatient care of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes, with ample opportunity to include education and scholastic activity into the practice.

Duties & Responsibilities • 6 half-day clinics, including endocrine and diabetes • Consultations in inpatient call for a week, every 4-5 weeks, approximately • Education of medical students from local and out-of-state medical schools, residents, and pediatric fellows • Participation in T1DM program development and several quality improvement initiatives • Clinical research opportunities and scholar endeavors that lead to academic promotion • Close interaction with other subspecialties, NICU, PICU, Hematology-Oncology, and other services Minimum Qualifications • MD/DO • BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology • Strong interpersonal skills • Telehealth skills Preferred Qualifications • Interest in developing comprehensive clinics. • Interest in type 2 diabetes and obesity • Interest in late endocrine complications in cancer survivors About University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria (UICOMP) Department of Pediatrics and OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois: UICOMP is one of the three regional campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, one of the largest public medical schools in the country.
