The Baltimore VA Medical Center , in collaboration with the University of Maryland School of Medicine , is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Gastroenterology . This is a full-time faculty appointment for a senior gastroenterologist with demonstrated leadership ability, excellence in patient care, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to clinical research. The Chief will oversee all aspects of the Gastroenterology Section, ensuring high-quality care for veterans, mentoring faculty and trainees, and advancing academic and research initiatives.

Academic Appointment:
This position includes a faculty appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with a rank commensurate with the candidate s experience, academic achievements, and leadership ability. More Compensation Details:
Receive annual base pay increases, when signed into federal law (as of 2024, the 5-year average increase was 2.92%), biennial within-grade or step longevity increases, and biennial market pay increases resulting from additional credentials, promotions, or local market changes.
