Manager, Business Intelligence (Finance) Chicago, IL, US Dec 13, 2024 Dentons US LLP is recruiting for a Business Intelligence Manager (Finance) to be resident in our Chicago Office. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and talented team leader with experience and drive to elevate standards of Business Intelligence, reporting, data mining, and data analytics. This individual will have the opportunity to cultivate a team of Business Intelligent experts capable of transforming firm data into valuable insights that will aid management in making better strategic and business decisions. This position enables the candidate to carry out a vision for how Business Intelligence can add value through innovative processes, practices, and technologies that positively impact analysis, planning, data quality, and operational efficiencies. Responsibilities Lead team by establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and data analytics platforms and solutions that are strategically aligned with the Firm’s business needs. Collaborate with business owners to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. Oversee and act as the lead expert on our current platforms Microsoft SQL Server including SSRS, and Power BI, to determine optimum BI solutions using reporting, data visualizations, BI dashboards, and data analytics to meet business needs. Pro-actively engage with business owners to assess reporting/analytical needs. Articulate clear plans for execution, maintain regular communication, and adhere to time sensitive deadlines. Position team members to optimally use business knowledge and technical skills; delegate projects accordingly, provide adequate guidance, and manage projects successfully to completion. Equip team with the appropriate knowledge of systems to build complex queries integrating data from multiple databases. Aid in formulating the right approach for presenting data to management. Ensure management’s requests for information have been appropriately and accurately addressed. Drive data processes and work to ensure data integrity in order to meet business reporting needs. Access, compile, and analyze complex financial and operational data across multiple systems. Develop standards for gathering and documenting technical specifications of business requirements and high-level data needs in order to produce sophisticated financial reporting for planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Partner with appropriate teams and execute strategy to improve data infrastructure and optimize access to accurate and consistent data. Deliver high quality analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from multiple databases. Utilize critical thinking to explore the data, discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies, and trends. Demonstrate strong knowledge of data housed within our platforms: Elite Enterprise, Data Fusion -Intellistat Budgeting and Financial Reporting, and ARCS. Establish best practices of information management that tighten data security and privacy controls. Stay current with industry trends and make recommendations on new technology opportunities that will have impact on the functionality and design of the Firm’s BI systems. Act as BI lead on financial system conversion from Elite Enterprise to Elite 3E; entails working with conversion team to ensure implementation meets needs of reporting, oversight of report migration, validation, and post-conversion user support. Other duties as required to fully meet the needs of the position. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree a plus. 7 years of law firm and/or professional service firm experience 5 years of customer service and/or other equivalent experience 5 years of accounts receivable and/or billing experience 3 years of management experience Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel Advanced experience with Power BI Familiarity with various software programs utilized by law firms for paper billing, e-billing and collections Possess strong written communication skills. Be articulate on the telephone and in person Demonstrate proficiency in managing direct reports and process improvement Must use good judgment and be courteous and tactful in communication with others, even when under pressure or in response to dissent Ability to use self-assured reason and constructive conversation to obtain a desired outcome Demonstrate good listening skills and the ability to work well with internal and external clients Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment Must be team player and willing to offer assistance to others when and where needed Salary Chicago Only DOE: $145,000 - $160,000 Dentons US LLP offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
