Do you like to work collaboratively with other programmers, departments and stakeholders to manage deployments? Designs and develops SQL Server databases for internal processes. Works on complex schema design (relationships, data modeling, normalization). Develops highly efficient triggers, stored procedures, functions, and views needed for system and reporting functionality. Loads and maintains system meta data. Develops reporting solutions for Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and other internal systems with SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI. Creates reports and dashboards that are easily understood by end business users. Develops code required to extract data from source systems and populate our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Works with data definitions, transformation rules, data manipulation language (DML), and BI data models to design and load data from source systems to target tables. Tests and validates accuracy of loads. Assists with providing technical direction for modernizing our Data and Analytics systems in the cloud. Has knowledge of Microsoft’s Azure services used for Data and Analytics. Experienced in moving processes and refactoring them to Azure using services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, Synapse, SQL, Apache Spark, and Fabric. Provides administrative and maintenance support for Enterprise Data and Analytics systems, other SQL Server databases, web servers, and BI systems. Resolves performance and data availability issues with production systems. Manages, maintains, and ensures availability of solutions for business users. Creates data extracts from vendor systems to feed other internal systems. Creates data extracts from internal systems for vendor needs to support operational items or analysis. Develops software that is functional and designed to user and/or department specifications and requirements. Works with other departments on project development. Attends meetings with appropriate employees or vendors to obtain necessary information and direction to proceed with the development and success of the project. Guides programmers by providing direction on projects and assistance with questions. Assists with staff code reviews for changes to our Enterprise Data and Analytics systems. Ensures overall quality of code and ensures code meets best practices in design and standards. Keeps current with trends and issues in the domains of data engineering, BI development, data science, decision intelligence, cloud computing, including operational best practices. Resolves emergency system problems, including assistance with weekend and off-hours support. Recognizes errors and/or problems that require time sensitive research and resolution. Integrates findings for identifying and resolving similar future problems in a timely and accurate manner. Assists with department source control management (SCM) and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes. This includes Azure DevOps (ADO) merges, builds, and deployments assistance and oversight. Adheres to internal procedures and SDLC standards, including change management protocols. Documents new processes. Updates existing documentation as needed based on coding changes being made. Adheres to internal coding and SDLC standards, including change management protocols. Maintains in depth knowledge of and complies with all Mission Fed, departmental and security policies and procedures, as well as, federal regulations applicable to the position, including BSA requirements. Completes all required compliance training as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Here is what we are looking for: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Software Development, Information Technology or related discipline is required. Two years of equivalent experience can substitute for every one year of education. A minimum 5 years of database engineering and design in an online analytical processing environment (OLAP) and online transaction processing environment ( OLTP) in both on-premise and Azure, 5 years of experience in developing code with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Python, or Azure Data Factory (ADF) to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses, and 5 years of experience in developing enterprise reporting solutions with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI is required. Must have expert knowledge of SQL Server versions 2016 and above and must understand data warehouse concepts such as dimensional designs, star schemas, data modeling, historical and incremental data modeling, data quality, extract, transform and load (ETL), and Query & Reporting. Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
