What they need
Our client needs a strategic thinker who balances short-term financial goals with long-term organizational objectives. This financial leader must understand the industry and build a deep understanding of the business model and people to provide strong financial leadership. The CFO will partner with the President and leadership team to determine the strategic business direction, financing, and investments vital to the future performance and health of the organization.

As CFO you will
Be a steward of the organization, partnering and collaborating with the team leaders to allocate financial resources that drive the greatest ROI in support of the company’s mission. You will continually assess and manage risk to preserve the organization's assets and people.

What you will do
The CFO will be a highly collaborative business partner leading a high-performing accounting, finance, risk management, legal, and information technology team.

  1. Financial Operations
    Develop and implement a financial strategy that aligns with the company's overall mission and objectives using financial planning, analysis, and forecasting models to identify opportunities for growth.
  2. Maintain a deep understanding of the company's financial position and industry trends to anticipate and manage risks associated with external forces helping the organization to adapt while in motion.
  3. Proactively and consistently communicate the company's financial strategy and performance to stakeholders including Executives, leadership team and entire ESOP, as well as, external stakeholders.
  4. Provide analytics and insights to support the President and Management Team ensuring business decisions are grounded in sound financial criteria.
  5. Enhancing a process to define key business levers, optimal targets, and performance metrics of the strategic initiatives through a balanced scorecard and/or KPI framework.
  6. Manage capital structure ensuring optimal leverage of financial resources including managing cash flow, debt, and financing.
  7. Ensure the right finance, accounting, and budgeting practices and procedures are executed with accurate and timely financial reporting.
  8. Ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements, including tax laws, accounting standards, and other relevant regulations; maintain internal controls and oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports.
  9. Leverage new and existing technology platforms to ensure the organization drives towards continuous improvement, efficiency, and high-quality performance for customers and employees.
  1. People Leadership
    Lead and retain high performance finance/accounting, risk management, and technology teams enabling them to provide value-enhancing partnership to the organization.
  2. Invest in the professional growth of the team through providing mentorship, development, growth, and educational opportunities.
  3. Manage and build long-term, trusting relationships with auditors, banks, insurance carriers, and other external vendors or professional associations.
  4. Help the leadership team build a collaborative, resilient, engaged, and motivated workforce with a team-oriented approach.

Requirements
What you need to have
Professional and Educational Credentials:

  1. Broad leadership experience in financial strategy, capital management, FP&A, risk management, compliance, and accounting in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  2. Strategic partner to the organizations with the ability to identify key business drivers, develop strategic initiatives, and measure financial performance.
  3. Proven success in attracting, retaining, and developing high performance teams.
  4. Expertise in leading operational excellence and enterprise-wide technology solutions.
  5. Experience in privately held companies, professional services, engineering, architectural design, construction, or related industries.
  6. Financial leadership for Employee-Owned (ESOP) company preferred or experience with company valuation and stock grants.
  7. Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field.
  8. MBA, CMA, or CPA are preferred.
