Description

This is a part-time position. The incumbent may work up to 19 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. There are currently six (6) vacancies. Two (2) vacancies in the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency, three (3) vacancies in the Public Works Agency, one (1) vacancy in the Community Development Agency, and one (1) vacancy in the Library Services Agency. Vacancies in other departments may also be filled from this recruitment.
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To
Under general supervision, assists with various accounting and administrative work; provides support to various operations such as Administration, Budget, and Accounting; assists in payroll reporting, contract agreement processing, data collection and reconciliation; reviews and tracks invoices; processes payments; performs programs and grant research, expenditure projections, reconciliation of various funding sources, and billing granting agencies; may communicate and coordinate with vendors and contractors on behalf of project managers or supervisors. Participates cooperatively in work team activities and performs other related tasks as required.
If assigned to Public Works, additional duties may include preparing written correspondence and assisting with preparing informational material.
If assigned to the Library Services, additional duties may include creating promotional digital and print graphics, and management of Library social media platforms.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of governmental administrative staff experience, preferably related to accounting, budget principles, report writing, and information research. Education equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with specialization in public administration, business administration, finance, economics, or closely related field is highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: operating modern devices including smart phones, tablets, laptops, personal computers and utilizing standard business software applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, and related software.
Ability to: work in a team environment and provide quality internal customer support, understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; use correct grammar and spelling.
