How you will create an impact

The primary responsibility of the Casualty Product Systems Director is to ensure AIG’s policy issuance platforms (Duck Creek, Majesco, and AIWCS) remain compliant with various rating agency, independent rating bureau adoptions, and bureau-related filings for all casualty lines of businesses such as Commercial General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Excess. This includes Forms (forms implementation by business line), Rates (loss costs or other rate calculation methods), and Rules (form and rate). Responsible for end-to-end delivery of commercial casualty insurance products, from deployment to adoption with a high degree of autonomy and authority. Implements change management, including updates to workflows, training, and communications.

This is a leadership role. The Casualty Product Systems Director will report directly to the AVP AIWCS Group North America, General Insurance.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

This role works with various teams and stakeholders in IT, Legal, Operations, and Underwriting in North America, including Canada, with a priority and focus on Casualty business lines such as Commercial Auto and General Liability.

Responsibilities

  1. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance rate, quote, and/or issuance systems product maintenance, ensuring compliance with NCCI/ISO rate, rules, and forms. Experience with Duck Creek, Majesco, or other platforms is a plus.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience with at least three-to-five years of leadership experience in commercial insurance rating and quoting platforms.
  3. Lead and mentor the systems’ team of product analysts assigned to support the various business units, fostering an environment of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  4. User Acceptance Testing for all implementations, reporting defects for correction and then re-testing to ensure proper corrections were made.
  5. Lead and oversee on-shore teams of systems analysts and an off-shore team to help coordinate various tasks and priorities.
  6. Work closely with the Casualty Product Management, IT, and Duck Creek Teams to ensure proper implementation for multiple lines of business of all AIG proprietary forms (dec pages, forms, endorsements, and notices) and all Bureau forms in current platforms.
  7. This role also helps provide accurate information and guidance for those policy issuance systems outside current span of control (external business partner systems).
  8. Develop a regulatory and compliance culture to ensure AIG stakeholders understand the risks we assume.

  2. A deep understanding of product development, portfolio management, and profitability drivers.
  3. Proven leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results, and leading effective teams.
  4. Established strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Skilled leader of change; versatile, client-focused, result-oriented.
  6. Demonstrated business savvy, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  7. Expert technical underwriting background in the related Casualty products (Auto, Excess, GL, Workers Compensation).
  8. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution experience.
