Overview
Airswift is seeking an experienced and dynamic Reservoir Engineer/Advisor to join one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will play a role in guiding our Reservoir Leadership Team, providing strategic support, and ensuring the highest technical standards in reservoir engineering practices. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge reservoir management strategies while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Support and Leadership:
- Provide guidance to the Reservoir Leadership Team to achieve performance objectives.
- Support and advise the team to maintain high technical standards across projects.
- Develop and implement plans and programs to meet reservoir engineering requirements.
- Lead and participate in peer reviews to ensure the integrity of technical deliverables.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Willingness to travel and work in remote locations as required.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to safety.
- Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across organizational levels.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
- Flexibility to work in dynamic environments and manage changing priorities.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of reservoir engineering principles, including PVT analysis, SCAL, and inflow/outflow studies.
- Proficiency in tools such as ComboCurve, ARIES, Spotfire, PowerBI, and Python.
- Experience in designing automated workflows and implementing data management best practices.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience in reservoir engineering roles within the oil and gas industry.
- Expertise in reservoir simulation and dynamic modeling.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support risk assessments and uncertainty analysis studies as defined by the Project Risk Management Plan.
- Facilitate team meetings and share safety-related lessons learned.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain ethical standards in all operations.
- Mentorship and Reporting:
- Mentor junior reservoir engineers, fostering their technical development.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, technical presentations, and updates for management, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Document results in both written and visual formats for clarity and accessibility.
- Data Management and Workflow Optimization:
- Streamline data management processes, including updating the ComboCurve repository for type curves and forecast updates.
- Maintain and optimize single-well economic models in ARIES, ensuring timely updates.
- Design and automate workflows using Python, SQL, GIS, Spotfire, and other tools to standardize data and improve accuracy.
- Develop analytical dashboards using PowerBI, Spotfire, and other BI software to enhance decision-making.
- Technical Expertise:
- Conduct and guide detailed reservoir simulation studies, including evaluations of depletion schemes and technical challenges.
- Perform comprehensive studies involving PVT, inflow/outflow, relative permeability, SCAL, and other critical evaluations.
- Support asset acquisition evaluations through depletion plan assessments.
- Collaborate with drilling, facilities, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
