We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Solutioning team. You will be working alongside hot runner experts, focused on developing new technologies required to optimize injection molding systems, break out into new markets, and shape the future of sustainable high-volume manufacturing. Success will require applying a broad range of engineering skills, an innovative spirit and an instinctive vision for the future. This is a great opportunity for a highly technical role on a global, multi-disciplined team of passionate engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Novel technology development with a focus on heating, sensing and thermal management in industrial environments
- End to end engineering from idea generation and prototype development through proof-of-concept validation, product development to eventual launch
- Research, development and validation of new heating technologies
- System instrumentation, designing & building complex arrays of sensors, data acquisition hardware and software development (Matlab-Simulink/NI Labview)
- Research and development of new sensing technologies with the intent to integrate them into various components within the molding cell
- Work closely with a team of cross-functional domain experts in Product Development and Validation teams to integrate innovations and new technologies into practical solutions
- Generating and presenting technical material, clearly and concisely to Executive teams and customers
- Technical project lead, managing project timelines, resources and budgets
Technical qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science preferred
- 5+ years of experience in related design or Product Development role involving industrial heating, sensing and thermal management
- Mastery of COTS sensor offerings, including physics-based understanding of their functionality, implementation and limitations
- Knowledge of control systems for temperature and electromechanical actuation
- Expertise in machine learning and data analysis (AI) a plus
- Ability to break down complex problems into functional subsystems, identifying the key parameters that drive performance
- Background in hot runners, mold design and injection molding preferred but not required
Personal qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members
- Work well in progressive team environment
- Strong time and project management skills, and ability to delegate tasks and projects
