The Program Specialist, serves the Decatur area, and is responsible for ensuring the continuity and growth of programs by developing, implementing, and administering year-round opportunities which meet the contemporary needs of girls ages 5-17, and to work with volunteers to offer membership and program extension.
This is a non-exempt, hourly position, 36.5 hours/week. Benefit eligible, including: medical, dental, life, long-term disability, 12 paid holidays a year, 15 days of vacation, 40 hours of personal time, and 12 days of sick, all earned each year. Additionally, we offer a 403b and match after 1 year, and offer the option to enroll in many other supplementary benefits.
Work from home eligible 2 days a weeks, after 6 months. Fully remote once office building is sold.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate year round program opportunities that meet the council objectives and determined outcomes.
- Schedule, implement, evaluate and assist with council sponsored regional programming.
- Responsible for delivering outreach programming in the Decatur and surrounding area schools and youth organizations.
- Responsible for all series program opportunities and working with volunteers to manage these opportunities.
- Ensure program development and implementation as designated by the council or GSUSA.
- Administer surveys to determine outcome measure results.
- Ensure the interests, values, and needs of girls of all diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and abilities are reflected through various programming opportunities based on evaluations.
- Develop and maintain ongoing contact with community partners, including: religious and educational institutions, cultural and racial/ethnic groups, service and professional organizations to enhance visibility and program options.
- Serve as the Product Coordinator for the region. or all cookie and fall product sale activities, providing support to service area teams, troops, and coworkers for all cookie and fall product sale activities.
- Participate in budget preparation, maintaining proper records and reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain all Girl program records and paperwork and submit monthly program reports.
- Recruit and maintain volunteers to help with programs.
- Ensure the success of the council by working in partnership with functional units, contributing to a team environment and subscribing to the overall objectives set forth in the council's strategic plan.
- Interpret and support GSUSA and council policies and standard procedures.
- Collaborate with the Fund Development Department to secure program related funding.
- Develop program content for the council program guides.
- Carry out goals as established by the council and GSUSA.
- Reliable vehicle with a valid driver's license and insurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYER REQUIREMENTS

• Hold a current driver's license and insurance.

• Computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.

• Interpret and support GSUSA and council policies and standard procedures.

• Represent the organization professionally and uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Salary Description
