Base Pay Range: $78,520 to $127,692 annually (pay is based on experience)

MU Healthcare is looking for a dynamic Health Facilities Engineer who possesses a strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and regulations. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, stakeholders, and facility managers to develop comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for new construction, renovation, infrastructure upgrade, and expansion projects.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of existing mechanical and electrical systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.
  3. Develop, review, and sign and seal engineering design documents, including plans, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable Health Care specific codes, standards, and regulations.
  4. Provide technical expertise and guidance in selecting, installing, and commissioning electrical equipment and systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, low voltage, fire alarm, fire protection, and life safety systems.
  5. Perform feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed projects, assisting in the development of project budgets, timelines, cost estimates, and resource allocations.
  6. Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with engineered plans and specifications.
  7. Collaborate with project managers to evaluate contractor bids and proposals, ensuring they align with project requirements and quality standards.
  8. Participate in commissioning activities, including functional testing, system balancing, and performance verification of mechanical and electrical systems.
  9. Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during project implementation, addressing any mechanical or electrical issues that may arise.
  10. Stay updated on emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in electrical engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into projects when appropriate.
  11. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical or electromechanical engineering.

  2. Experience with electrical systems.

  3. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure by the Missouri Board for Professional Engineers (APELSLA) within six (6) months as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree.

  • Engineering experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
