Job Description

Kite is seeking an Associate Director of Data Strategy & Solutions to drive the development and implementation of strategic data solutions to support US Medical Affairs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the evolution of implementing data-driven capabilities to enable customer engagement. The incumbent will be a key member of the Global Data Strategy & Solutions team, reporting into the Head of Global Data Strategy & Solutions, and is expected to partner effectively across key stakeholders including Medical Affairs, IT, Compliance, and Business Operations to design scalable data solutions aligned to the Medical Affairs organization’s strategic imperatives. This position is part of the Global Data and Digital Innovation (GDDI) team and can be based at our headquarters in Santa Monica or our offices in Foster City. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather field and home-office team input to define and implement data solutions capabilities for the US Medical Affairs team.
  • Own the design and development of data solutions for Kite US Medical teams.
  • Design and implement dashboards, reporting, and other data solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders. Acts as single point of contact on all US Medical Affairs data programs with IT, taking the lead in partnering with Medical Affairs to gather and refine business requirements, establish metrics/KPIs, and align on data solutions prioritization and planning, and representing those needs to IT and external vendors.
  • Lead US Medical Affairs data acquisition strategy, master data management, and data operations.
  • Manage data quality, data analysis, and decision support for the medical insights team.
  • Create actionable ad hoc reports/dashboards that help the business to make decisions.
  • Partner closely with the US Medical Affairs leadership team to plan and implement the rollout of data solutions, including training on new data capabilities.
  • Lead brainstorming and solution work sessions with stakeholders and partner teams.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements as it relates to data operations in support of medical customer engagement.
  • Stay informed about emerging data capabilities, continually seeking to enhance and upskill the organization’s data solutions.
  • Implement and execute data governance to provide clean data to the medical organization.
  • Ensure operational support needs and downstream implications are addressed when developing solutions.
  • Employ project management and business analysis practices to drive solutions forward within budget, scope, and timelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific degree (i.e. MD, PharmD, PhD) and 5+ years of experience OR
  • Master’s Degree and 8+ years of experience OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience OR
  • Associate’s Degree and 12+ years of experience OR
  • High School Degree and 14+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience designing and implementing data solutions in the US pharmaceutical or biotech market, preferably in medical affairs.
  • Strong understanding of internal and external data sources to support field execution.
  • Ability to design and implement innovative, strategic reporting and analytics tools, leveraging the latest data solutions techniques and technologies.
  • Significant experience building and implementing data solutions with tools such as Tableau or PowerBI is required. This is a hands-on role that requires directly developing data solutions.
  • Familiarity with the principles and technologies of data management, data architecture, process design, and analytics for both structured and unstructured data (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, etc.).
  • Experience in working with data from Veeva CRM, Marketing CRM, MIRF systems, Salesforce ServiceCloud and/or SFMC.
  • Experience modeling and/or analyzing patient level data, call activity data from CRM, digital marketing, email campaign statistics, and consent management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management. High levels of organization, attention to detail, and accuracy. Drive to meet and exceed high expectations of quality.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, lead and foster cross-functional/external collaboration and to work across boundaries to increase performance.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach, engage, and support others as they learn new technologies and concepts.

The salary range for this position is: $173,910.00 - $225,060.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
