Description:
The AORD team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in architecting and implementing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for leading the development of Cloud Infrastructure leveraging automation, collaborating with Devops teams to build CI/CD pipelines and building best practices for the team to follow. You will have a direct impact on Cloud Adoption, Agile and DevOps maturity within our Business Unit. The role will require you to work across a broad spectrum of technology, technology teams and business partners.
Responsibilities:
- Self-starter who can pick up new technologies, be comfortable with ambiguity and drive initiatives forward.
- Architect and design cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability and cost effectiveness while considering operational concerns and non-functional requirements such as availability, scalability and backups.
- Develop Infrastructure as code using Terraform for automated provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Collaborate with Devops teams to build CI/CD pipelines needed to deploy application code and streamline deployment processes.
- Implement solutions that adhere to cloud security principles including Identity and Access Management, Data Protection and Network Security.
- Build solutions that implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts specifically around monitoring, logging, alerting, incident management and disaster recovery.
- Respond to security findings identified by the security teams, implementing remediation measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Ability to design solutions with operational concerns in mind, including non-functional requirements such as availability, scalability, backups and restore procedures.
- Mentor junior team members on cloud architecture principles, best practices and emerging technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in core application development and implementing end to end solutions.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Application Stack: Microservices, Spring boot, JPA, ReactJS, relational databases
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure
- Database: Azure Postgres, Cosmos DB
- Messaging: Azure Servicebus, Azure Event hub, Azure Event Grid, Solace and Kafka
- Database Operations: Configuring Backups, Restores, replication and Failover
- Traceability: Azure monitoring, logging and alerting services
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub actions
- Understanding of the SCRUM agile process
- Financial Services domain knowledge
Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solution Architect Expert or Azure certified Developer
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
