About the Role:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Director of Program Applications who will report directly to the DCE Data Center Construction organization lead. The Director of Program Applications is the global strategist and thought leader responsible for implementing portfolio-wide technology and tools. Key role is to establish, define, provision, implement, manage, and enforce global standards designs while ensuring the strategic growth and operational excellence of our global data center infrastructure. Substantial work and coordination with internal cross-functional partners (Data Center Site Selection, Design & Construction (D&C), Data Center Operations (DCO), Sustainability, Utility Sourcing, Legal, etc.) along with 3rd party vendors (Design, Civil & Environmental consultants, contractors, external legal advisors, etc.) is required.

Your focus will be on identifying, qualifying, designing, and managing the delivery of technology projects, and continually evolving D&C’s systems and tools to enhance performance.

Location: US based, Remote, work from home

Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the PMO for the Data Center Engineering Construction (DCEC) team.
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive project management frameworks utilizing tools such as Primavera, Aconex, and Jira, ensuring successful completion of security reviews and approvals prior to tool development to enhance program visibility.
  3. Facilitate the engineering teams by providing the necessary resources and tools to enhance project planning, while also overseeing programmatic reporting and risk management across all initiatives.
  4. Establish real-time tracking systems to monitor project progress, mitigate potential delays, and effectively manage complex workflows across various teams.
  5. Ensure robust and scalable project control processes that align with Oracle's strategic global expansion goals.
  6. Collaborate closely with internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional partners to align objectives and drive project success.
  7. Create and manage long-term roadmaps for new data center builds and retrofits.
  8. Optimize resource allocation and deconfliction across multiple concurrent projects.
  9. Mentor and lead a growing team, fostering professional development and promoting operational excellence.
  10. Champion leading-edge solutions across the enterprise and cross-functional partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management, specifically focused on managing tools and systems for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  2. Strong expertise in industry-specific tools and software utilized in the construction sector, such as Primavera, Aconex, and Jira.
  3. Must have experience with Oracle’s Procurement Cloud and submission of Cloud Order Request process.
  4. Must have working knowledge of Corporate Security Solution Assurance Process (CSSAP), experience with Corporate Security Review (CSR), and qualifications for Privacy & Security Legal (P&SL) review.
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage complex schedules and interdependencies.
  6. Proven track record of interacting effectively with senior executives and managing large cross-functional teams.
  7. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or PMP certification is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in data center design and construction within a global organizational context.
  2. Familiarity with Oracle's project control tools, CMMS software and P6 scheduling application is advantageous.
  3. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
