The Field Service Manager will mentor and develops all field personnel on how to be successful in their duties

The primary purpose of the Field Service Manager is to be the main advocate for field personnel. The Field Service Manager oversees scheduling all activities, ensuring that all customer needs are met while ensuring the right individual can accomplish the task they are scheduled for. This role will work closely with dispatch on scheduling trucks for shipments and assist in setting up the amount of trucks, times for arriving on site, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and order inventory of all pertinent PPE
  • Manage and purchase inventory of all pertinent equipment and all supplies
  • Regular contact with all field personnel and monitor morale.
  • Develop and/or assist in creating training for the Field Group
  • Plan, coordinate and direct lab pack projects, tank cleanings, site cleanups
  • Quote/assist in quoting upcoming projects
  • Capable of managing large projects (i.e. turnarounds) for long periods of time
  • Notify Field Operations Supervisor or Field Operations Manager of any spills, breaks, first aid, accidents or near misses that occur on project
  • Mentor and train all Technicians at all levels.
  • Manages hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite following EPA, TCEQ, and company-specific requirements
  • Executes onsite support services to include performing chemical/waste inventories, segregating chemicals, requesting shipments
  • Can characterize, consolidate and pack chemicals in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations
  • Can accurately complete Lab Pack Inventory sheets for submission to TSDFs
  • Properly sample non-hazardous and hazardous waste from drums, totes, tanks, sumps, etc.
  • Properly fills out Chain of Custodies for samples
  • Prepares shipments of drums, totes, etc. of non-hazardous and hazardous waste
  • Coordinates shipments of non-hazardous and hazardous waste on site to include drivers, forklift operators, customer contact, etc.
  • Accurately completes all paperwork associated with shipping non-hazardous and hazardous waste
  • Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans
  • Ensure all employees perform assigned tasks in compliance with all company, customer, and federally required safety policies/procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Computer Skills :

Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software.

EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, environmental science or related fields preferred.
  • 10 Years of environmental experience.
  • Knowledge of Field Sampling, Hazardous Waste Disposal and facility decontamination.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • TWIC Card preferred.
  • HASC Basic Plus required.


PHYSICAL/ MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Consist of both office setting and physical jobsite. Able to work in confined spaces when needed.
