Seaward Services is seeking a Chief Engineer for our Endeavor operation.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.


About the Opportunity:


The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the engineering department onboard Seaward Services Multi-Purpose Vessel Seaward Endeavor. This includes overseeing the engine room, auxiliary equipment, routine maintenance programs, and responding to emergencies. The Chief Engineer must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and be able to work effectively with a team of engineers and technicians.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  1. Managing technical maintenance and the safe, efficient, economical operation of all her machinery
  2. Establishing all the engine room procedures
  3. Assigning the engineering/technical department jobs
  4. Maintaining sufficient bunkers and other essential engine-related stores and consumables
  5. Managing for the safe and efficient loading and transferring of bunkers
  6. Managing the day to day running of all plant and machinery
  7. Identifies and assigns necessary routine maintenance, repairs, and ship's technical jobs
  8. Stands engine room watch while vessel is underway or as and when deemed necessary
  9. Maintaining log of the lube/oil quantities and consumptions
  10. Monitoring and analyzing cooling water
  11. Manages the general condition/maintenance of machineries, steering gear, air conditioning, etc.
  12. Keeping engine room watches and carrying out and administering maintenance jobs
  13. Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:


  1. Valid Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC)
  2. Minimum DD-4000 Chief endorsement
  3. Valid U.S. Passport
  4. Valid USCG Medical Certificate
  5. QMED Endorsement
  6. Valid TWIC Card
  7. Ability to pass a physical exam
  8. Ability to pass a written exam

Salary: $750 daily
