Overview
BRPH is looking for an Electrical Engineer for our Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control Facility in Orlando, Florida. The Electrical Engineer operates as part of the department's core production group to provide electrical design on a variety of complex and challenging projects, in addition to mentoring and training of junior staff.

ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design medium voltage and low voltage power distribution systems and prepare one-line diagrams in coordination with Sr. Engineer
- Prepare load calculations, specify and layout electrical equipment, and perform power, lighting, lighting controls, grounding, lightning protection, communication, and fire alarm system design, and produce construction documents using AutoCAD and REVIT
- Perform electrical calculations such as: short circuit, voltage drop, transformer and generator sizing calculations, battery sizing, conductor and conduit sizing, cable pulling tension, and conduit jam ratio
- Perform photometry calculations for normal and emergency lighting using lighting calculation software
- Perform short circuit current and load flow analysis, overcurrent protective device coordination, and arc flash risk assessment using SKM Power Tools and develop power distribution system recommendations and incident energy mitigation techniques
- Review and edit project specifications
- Participate in inter-discipline project coordination
- Implement efficient design strategies that promote project financial health and profitability to ensure design work is performed within allocated budget
- Contribute to assuring project schedule milestones are achieved, assist in identifying scope creep and coordinate with Sr. Engineer for potential schedule and cost impacts
- Assist the Sr. Engineer with the forecasting of workload and resources for assigned projects
- Visit construction sites to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, respond to RFI's, and prepare field status reports
- Follow the department's quality control vision through performing designer checks and inter-discipline cross checks on construction documents
- Contribute to the improvement of the department's design standards
- Participate in the firm's mentorship program by providing mentorship and training to junior staff while establishing a mentor/mentee relationship with Sr. Engineer
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building and energy conservation codes
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, REVIT, SKM Power Tools, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft OneNote
- A positive and professional attitude that is centered on personal development to take advantage of all the career advancement opportunities within the department
- A minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- A minimum 5 years of experience in Architecture and Engineering field
- Must be a US Citizen.
CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must Possess a P.E License in the State of Florida with the ability to obtain NCEES.
