Job Brief: Doherty Steel is searching for experienced Fabricators to align, fit, and weld components to assemble structural forms. Fabricator/Fitter Responsibilities: Adhere to safety protocols & practices Coordinate with other team members as required Read and interpret blueprints & shop drawings Setup and adjust parameters on welding and cutting equipment Prepare material for fabrication Use of overhead cranes to move material and position for fabrication Requirements: Accurately fit and align components according to specifications Knowledge of steel fabrication & welding Knowledge of fitting handrails and stairs Ability to weld with various techniques Strong organizational skills Strong understanding of weld symbols Ability to work overtime when necessary Give proper attention to detail Work smart, safe and adhere to PPE requirements Lift and carry upwards of 50 pounds Ability to kneel, bend, and crouch for a period of time Strong hand eye coordination Ability to stand in one position for extended period of time Proficient shop math skills and ability to read a tape measure Note: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
